We booked this through Adventure Indochina Travel in Hanoi and it’s a great option for a day trip from Hanoi. Hieu was our tour guide and he was very friendly and knowledgable. Sometimes spoke a little bit too much though but this isn’t uncommon in Vietnam. I’ve marked it down a star as the driving to and from did not feel very safe and there were no seat belts on the bus – though on a brighter note, the bus had great wifi! The temple visit feels a little bit pointless and this is not what we came on the tour for but I guess it was okay for a quick morning activity. The lunch was great and there was plenty to choose from, it was very busy there but that was to be expected! Drinks were very reasonably priced too. TamCoc itself was beautiful though I don’t feel like they quite know how to treat tourists right. The photographer boats are very off-putting and do ruin the relaxing vibe a bit, and they will demand a tip off you very rudely before you’ve even pulled up at the dock but obviously this is out of the tour companies’ control. Overall, a great option for a day trip and I’d definitely recommend Go Asia Travel and Tam Coc!
